Daddy Day Camp

Predictability ensues

VIDEO: Watch the trailer for Daddy Day Camp.

Because even Eddie Murphy had better things to do, Cuba Gooding Jr. stars in this mess of a sequel directed by Fred Savage (Kevin from The Wonder Years!). For reasons too inane to detail, the men of Daddy Day Care open a summer camp and must face off against their rivals at the fancier camp next door in order to . . . something. Predictability ensues, with the requisite skunk and poison-ivy scares, outdoorsy high jinks, and foreclosure threats from the meanies at the bank. Poorly staged, acted, and edited, Daddy Day Camp plays like a particularly inept episode of Gilligan’s Island, with more fart jokes. It all comes down to the “Olympiad,” a battle of idiotic proportions between the two camps, and if you can’t guess what happens next, this just may be the movie for you.
